The hotel Schweizerhof is situated on Zermatt's main street, the Bahnhofstrasse, right in the heart of the picturesque village. It is also in close proximity to the main train station and within walking distance to all other major public transportation systems mountain railways, cablecars and skibus. 114 rooms and suites! All of them are equipped with either shower or bath, minibar, radio, cable television, direct-dialing telephone, safe and hair-dryer. Additional features include a sitting area and a writing desk. Most of the rooms have a balcony with a magnificient view of the mountains. For relaxation, they can offer you the wellness center with its heated indoor swimming pool, solarium, sauna, and steam bath and massage facilities. The hotel offers as well a Jacuzzi and different saunas in the expanded wellness area “Sempervivum”.  The free use of WiFi is included in the room rates. There is afternoon tea offered by the hotel every afternoon during the winter season.  New since December 2009: Restaurant Lanna Thai.  Thai cuisine is considered, rightly so, one of the most refined in the world. The use of fragrant herbs like lemongrass, coriander, holy basil or galangal as well as various sorts of chillies give it their enchanting and so particular flavours. It is a naturally light cuisine, with very short cooking times in a wok to avoid losing precious vitamins and nutritious properties, particularly well suited to our dietary lifestyle.
