Many roads lead to Megeve, situated 1,113 m above sea level in France's Haute-Savoie. From Geneva's Contrine Airport it's only a further 70 km to this ideal winter and summer holiday resort. Megeve, the very image of a charming Savoy village, is characterised by its wonderful chalet architecture, so steeped in tradition, which blends perfectly into the surrounding countryside. Wonderful mountains for skiing and hiking rise up on both sides of the expansive high altitude valley, neither too steep nor too high (they reach up to 2,525 m), and there is a charming mosaic of woods and open spaces against the impressive backdrop of Mont Blanc. In fact, the place is a genuine Garden of Eden for skiers, snowboarders, hikers, nature lovers, indeed anyone in search of rest and relaxation. And of course the wide range of sporting and cultural events as well as the carefully maintained atmosphere of savoir-vivre always adds to the magic.
