It possesses one of the largest interconnected lift system in the world. The Gardena Valley has three main villages, the first and largest is Ortisei, the second Santa Cristina, and the third Selva Val Gardena. A free shuttle service links these three towns, making them easily accessible. The local language is actually a derivative of latin called ladin, but residents speak fluent Italian and German.
